Surgery is the main form of treatment for testicular cancer. Other methods of treating it are radiation, chemotherapy or even a combination of all these treatments. If the cancer has spread to the bones, brain, and the liver, it becomes rather difficult to treat. If the current bout of cancer is as a result of a previous testicular cancer, a combination of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery will be mandatory.
It is possible to remove the cancerous tumor from the affected testicles and still leave them fully functional. However, this is rarely done. The reason is that over 95% of all reported testicular tumor infections are of malignant nature.
