All of us have mouth ulcers occasionally. Aphthous ulcer is the medical term for mouth ulcers. Mouth ulcers are round, painful sores in our mouth that interferes with our daily tooth brushing and eating. The center of the ulcer is grayish or white in color. Eating spicy and salty food is very painful. The exact cause of mouth ulcers is still unknown, but the most common cause is accidental damage, for example a sharp broken tooth, eating spicy foods, or biting the tongue or cheek by mistake, etc. These ulcers generally heal on themselves, but individuals can speed the healing by consuming lots of water.
