Family planning has always been left to the women and men have not had any form of contraceptive that is reversible like the women. Presently, the only way men can take part in family planning is through the use of condoms, vasectomy or withdrawal during sex. The studies that have been conducted show that men would be willing to take contraceptives if they were made available. Various pharmaceutical companies are carrying out research to come up with male contraceptives. The types of contraceptives that are currently being researched on include those made using hormones similar to the female contraceptives. The male contraceptives are aimed at interrupting sperm production.
