The stomach generally secretes an acid which is essential for the process of digestion. This acid helps in breaking down of the food in the process of digestion. Whenever, there is an excess production of this acid, it leads to a condition called acidity. Some of the common symptoms of acidity are headache, vomiting tendency, burning sensation in throat and chest, sour oral belching and lack of appetite. Acidity is mainly caused due to the following reasons –
• Excessive consumption of spicy, hot and fried food.
• Excessive consumption of coffee, tea, garlic and onions.
• Excessive exposure to heat and sun.
